Finding Your Beautiful...and a Trim Healthy Mama Giveaway

This modern age has us racing through life in the fast lane.  Drive-thru convenience food makes serving dinner a snap!  We can fill our stomachs, clog our arteries, widen our backsides and add to that muffin top--all without getting out of the car.  And when our bodies finally crumble under the onslaught of grease, fat and calories and we need a prescription filled to get us back on our feet, there is even a drive-up window for that.  No need for taking more steps than absolutely necessary in a world that seems determined to kill us by both diet and inactivity.

But what happens when you want to take a stand against this deadly lifestyle and you start to implement change that seems drastic or fanatical to others?  You hear things like:
"Oh, I could never do that!  I like my soda too much!"
"What's the fun in living if you can't even eat the things you enjoy?"
"I don't have time to exercise.  I'm lucky just to get through the day doing what I have to do."
"My husband loves me just the way I am and that's all that matters!"

It's easy to lose steam and motivation when there are naysayers at every turn.  But don't let them sway you!  It is 100% Biblical to be in your best possible physical health!  God created all things beautiful and that includes you. Taking care of yourself is a key aspect of the Christian life.  Period!

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. {1 Corinthians 3:16-17}

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. {3 John 1:2}

It isn't prideful to want to shed that extra weight.  It's not vanity to want to lose the pallor that poor health casts over your complexion.  And it isn't conceit that makes you want to catch your husband's eye again.  It's God's design.  Why are we so determined to make excuses or find a way around it?

You don't need any special equipment to exercise.  Tie on your tennis shoes and go for a stroll around your neighborhood.  Drop to the floor and do a few crunches, challenging yourself to add a few more each day.  Pump out push-ups one at a time until you can do 20.  And then 30 , 40 or 50!  Set small goals for yourself and go after them!!!!  Do not be defeated!

Of course, it's pretty silly to intentionally exercise if you're going to be stuffing yourself with poison disguised as food.  Proper diet and physical activity must go hand in hand.  Throw out the ugly notion that the word "diet" is a cruel torture to be endured for a small space of time to achieve a short term goal.  All lies!

Diet is simply the food and drink that a person consumes.

It doesn't have to be torture.  In fact, it shouldn't be torture.   It can be delicious, satisfying and fun.  And it should be!

  5. I am working on healthy eating for our family of 7. Life is so busy that it is hard to do all the research to "get it right." Would love to have this book since I have been hearing so much about it. To be able to make food that everyone in the family would like to eat without me making different food for myself would be wonderful! Thanks for the giveaway.

  14. I would love to win a copy of this book. I just do not have the money right now to purchase it.

    Why do I want it? Because I need to get healthy, for my family. Summer is coming and with 4 active little ones (3 and under) I need to be better able to keep up! I have no idea where or what or how to begin with what little time I have in the day.

  15. Baby #4 is 18 months old, and as we are just starting to homeschool my 7 yr old, about to pull my 5 yr old out of school, and trying to manage the therapy and doctor appointments for my special needs almost 4 yr old, I have found myself lacking in health and fitness lately. I am not the best I can be for my Lord or family, and I know that so many of my energy and motivation issues would be fixed if I would just treat my body as the temple it is...but how/where do you start? What is really "healthy" these days? Overwhelming...

  58. I just had baby number 6 (1st c-section). Was over weight before getting pregnate but never really lost any from previous pregs. I have been wanting this book since it came out even asked for it at Christmas no one got it for me and we are on a strict budget.

  62. I too would love to have this book! I have lost my weight & am keeping it down...the recipes I read looked like it would help us to eat the way we should & the way I have been trying to do for some time now. The recipes looked very good & I would love to be able to prepare more delicious recipes to help my Dearest One eat more healthy too & enjoy it!!! :D We both were raised in the South & love our comfort food! But I because of health problems have changed my eating habits & My Dearest ONE is happy for me but his taste buds have not changed & it is harder for him to enjoy the changes for himself that I have made for myself! So, I believe this book would help me to help My Dearest One (& has been My Dearest One for almost 52 yrs now! Praising the LORD for each day we have together!)
