Tips for Mothers

  •  Keep Christ first.  Tend to that relationship and everything else falls into place.
  • Schedule time to intentionally exercise with your regular routine in mind.  Make a plan and be consistent.
  • Recruit the kids into your fitness regime.  Just because you're power walking while your son bikes doesn't mean you're any less effective.  Get your children moving and you'll all benefit.
  • Turn off the electronics.  Television sets, DVD players, iPods, computers, xbox...shut it all down during designated times of the day.  The media age is literally killing us as it lulls us into inactivity.
  • Resist the urge to burn the midnight candle.  Morning will come whether you're ready or not, so you might as well at least be rested.  Plus, adequate sleep helps to balance metabolism.
  • Incorporate weights into your workouts.  Muscle truly does burn fat...which translates into inch and weight loss!
  • Develop a support system.
  • Put some muscle behind your housework for added calorie burn.
  • Be kind to your feet (and joints)...wear proper shoes.
  • Set goals and go after them!
