meet kasey

I seriously consider myself the most blessed woman in the world..I'm insanely loved by the sweetest firefighter on the planet and 7 precious children call me Mama!  I'm a health and fitness enthusiast who has been sidelined repeatedly by pregnancies that took it all out of me.  Getting back in shape, and on track nutritionally, is a battle I've had to fight each and every time!

Here's what I'm learning as I still struggle back after the birth of my twins nearly two years ago:

  • To be well spiritually, I must be well physically.  There is a reason the Bible calls the body a "temple".
  • Processed food junk loves me.  Seriously.  It loves to sit on my hips, thighs, belly and backside!
  • Sugar is evil.  For the most part, anyway.
  • Exercise is hardest when I'm just thinking about it.  While I'm actually doing it?...not so bad!
  • Sweating intentionally somehow just isn't as gross.
  • I can't even look at soda.  It's my weakness and I'm very weak!
  • Pounds matter much less than inches.
  • My husband loves me no matter how I look.  He just prefers me healthy.
  • Water.  Need I say more?
  • The men and women in most fitness videos don't wear much.  Thankfully, I'm always too focused on staying alive to notice.
  • I do, however, keep those particular videos out of sight and reach of my impressionable children!
  • It's easy to lose focus and go overboard.  Balance.  Err on the side of Christ, not skinny.
  • Serious cleaning does burn calories!
  • So does chasing babies.
  • The old saying is true....No food tastes better than being healthy feels.
  • And to take that a step further, being healthy physically feels best when it walks hand-in-hand with strong spiritual health!
